Senior Shely Martinez led UTSA with a 24th-place finish this week.
ERIE, Colo. —
The UTSA women’s golf team posted scores of 307-305-312 (924) and that was good enough for eighth place at the Heather Farr/Colorado Memorial.
Senior Shelly Martinez was the Roadrunners top finisher. The Pecos native recorded a final round 78 for a two-day total of 229 to finish tied for 24th. Martinez collected six birdies for the tournament, including three in the second round.
Meanwhile, sophomore Shannon Jungman ended her day one stroke behind Martinez at 230 and tied for 30th place. Jungman picked up a pair birdies on the final day to bring her three-round total to four.
Senior Madison McClain led UTSA with eight birdies, including three on the final day. The Missouri City native registered a scorecard of 75-80-77=232 and tied for 36th.
Meanwhile, sophomores Summer Batiste and Kayla McBride also were in action and they logged final scores of 235 and 244, respectively.
UTSA returns to the course in two weeks when it travels to Knoxville, Tenn., for the Mercedes-Benz Championship.
