Junior Summer Batiste led UTSA with an 11th-place performance.
KINDER, La. — The UTSA women’s golf team landed four of its five players in the top 20 and it finished the Koasati Pines Classic with a three-round total of 928 (328-312-303), which was good enough for a third-place showing in its 2010 spring opener.
Junior Summer Batiste was the Roadrunners' top finisher in 11th place. Batiste posted an 85 in the first round but bounced back with rounds of 77 and 74 for a 236 total.
Meanwhile, senior Shelly Martinez capped off her tournament tied for 13th with a scorecard of 82-79-76=237. Senior Madison McClain posted scores of 81, 79 and 77 (238) and tied for 18th place and sophomore Bruna Spengler concluded her day two strokes behind McClain (239) in 20th place.
The Roadrunners are back in action on March 1-2 at the UCF Challenge.
