SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men's and women's cross country teams open the championship portion of their seasons on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Conference USA Championships.
The event
Florida Atlantic is the host of the 2018 Conference USA Cross Country Championships at the South County Regional Park in Boca Raton, Fla. The women's 5,000-meter race will start at 7:30 a.m. CT, while the men's 8,000-meter event will begin at 8:15 a.m. CT.
The competition
UTSA joins Charlotte, FIU, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Rice, UTEP and WKU in both the men's and women's events, while Southern Miss and UAB only field a women's team.
Representing the Roadrunners
Nine men and nine women will represent UTSA at the meet. Junior Olivia Flores has been UTSA's top female performer this season, leading the Roadrunners in each of the three events in which she has competed. Four different Roadrunners have placed the UTSA men this season, including junior Peter Sepulveda, junior Martin Luevano, sophomore Omar Bekdache and freshman Jake Smith.
