EL PASO, Texas -- Laura Cabrera, Kylee Kato, Mariah Plauth and Charleen Tiwari each won singles matches to lead UTSA women's tennis to a 5-2 win over Utah State, on Saturday morning in El Paso, Texas, on the campus of UTEP.
UTSA (6-6) posted the win over Utah State (3-6) in its second match in El Paso in two days, also falling vs. UTEP on Friday. The Roadrunners will now venture to Las Cruces, N.M., to face New Mexico State on Sunday.
"We started off strong in doubles, winning the point, and kept our momentum going into singles," UTSA first-year head coach Ki Kroll said. "We played a very strong tem in Utah State and it was great to see us fight so hard. I'm so proud of our team."
