Women's tennis makes history Tuesday

SAN ANTONIO – History was made at the UTSA Tennis Center with UTSA's 4-2 win over Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Tuesday.
 
This is the first time in the history of the Roadrunners women's program were victorious against the Islanders in both matches in a single season.
 
UTSA is 4-3 and concluded the three-match homestand at 2-1, while Texas A&M – Corpus Christi drops to 10-2.
 
With the teams splitting the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, UTSA claimed the all-important tie-breaking match by its top pair to take a 1-0 lead into the singles. Wins at the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 positions secured the win for the Roadrunners.

"I am so proud of our ladies today, everything came together," head coach Ki Kroll said. "Everyone fought the whole way through and stepped up in the big moments. Our leadership, culture and strong work ethic really showed up in this match. We are looking forward to carrying this confidence into the next match!"
