Hallmark adds Sean Arnold to signing class

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head coach Pat Hallmark announced Monday that UIW graduate transfer Sean Arnold joins the Roadrunners' 2020 signing class. 
 
Arnold, a native of Bryan, Texas, signed a financial aid agreement and is eligible to use his remaining season of eligibility immediately.
 
In his first three years with the Cardinals, Arnold slashed .290/.419/.411, starting 127 games, before redshirting the 2020 shortened campaign. He tallied 117 hits in 404 at-bats, registering 17 doubles, seven triples and six home runs, scoring 84 runs and driving in 69.
 
As a freshman in 2017, Arnold started 35 contests and hit .279 (29-for-104) with three doubles and three triples. He scored 18 runs, added 21 RBIs and worked 22 walks.
 
Arnold finished his sophomore campaign with a .230 (23-for-100) batting average, including three doubles, one home run, 24 runs and 13 RBIs in 42 starts. He boosted his on-base percentage by reaching safely with 20 walks, being hit by 12 pitches and successfully swiped five bags in seven attempts.
 
As a junior in 2019, Arnold hit .325 (65-for-200) in 50 games, including 11 doubles, four triples, five homers, 42 runs, 35 RBIs, 24 walks and hit by 13 pitches in. His batting average, doubles, home runs, runs scored, RBIs, BBs and HBP are all career bests.
 
His accolades at Rudder High School include 2016 2nd Team All-State, All-Greater Houston All-Star and All-District Defensive MVP – his second in succession. Arnold earned All-District Honorable Mention honors in 2014 and 2015. He was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the National Honor Society, graduating with a 3.85 GPA.
