Roadrunners drop a 5-2 decision to Abilene Christian

ABILENE – The UTSA women's tennis team opened the 2021 season with a 5-2 loss to Abilene Christian Saturday afternoon.
 
"Tough match today," head coach Ki Kroll said. "Hopefully a lot learned, we'll have to pick it up for next weekend. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Houston will be tough opponents."
 
The Roadrunners garnered the doubles points with wins at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Aleksandra Zlatarova and Sophie Omowrare defeated their opponents 6-4, followed by a 7-6 (7-1) win by Alexandra Weir and Catalina Cabarique.
 
In singles, the Wildcats won five points to take the match. Eva Beyebach won the lone point with a 6-2, 7-5 at No. 5.

The Roadrunners return to action on Jan. 29 at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
