UTSA collected three gold medals at the inaugural H-Town SpeedCity Series meet on Jan. 16. Bashiru Abdullahi raced to victory in the men's 60m hurdles, Ingeborg Gruenwald leaped to top honors in the women's long jump and Noah Rhodes crossed first in the men's 400m. Abdullahi was named Conference USA Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Gruenwald was tabbed C-USA Women's Field Athlete of the Week for their performances.

The Roadrunners tallied six podium finishes at last weekend's Aggie Invitational in their last meet.

Grant Szalek won the men's high jump with a clearance 2.11m (6-11) on his first attempt at the height to grab the gold medal and better his previous UTSA personal best of 2.06m (6-9) posted in capturing the silver medal at last year's Conference USA Indoor Championships

UTSA finished 2-3 in the men's shot put, as Jorge Ayala unleashed a personal-best mark of 16.54m (54-3.25) to secure silver and Paul Bouey claimed bronze with a measurement of 15.89m (52-1.75).

Meanwhile, Abdullahi peeled off a time of 7.93 seconds for a narrow runner-up finish in the men's 60-meter hurdles.

Christie Le Roux made his UTSA debut by finishing third in the men's long jump with a leap of 7.06m (23-2), while Gruenwald sailed to a mark of 5.88m (19-3.5) to collect bronze in the women's long jump.
