Roadrunners add four local stars to 2021 class

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head football coach Jeff Traylor on Wednesday announced that he has added local stars Caleb Lewis of Steele High School, De'Anthony Lewis and Robert Rigsby of Converse Judson High School and Dre Spriggs of Harlan High School to the program's 2021 class, bringing the total number to 21 student-athletes.
 
The 2021 class also includes Kevorian Barnes, Clifford Chattman, Nick Evans, Ronnie Garza, River Gordon, Caden Holt, JaCorey Hyder, Malik Jones, Luke Lapeze, Eddie Lee Marburger, Noah Mitchell, Xavier Player, Jalen Rainey, Kamron Scott, Ron Tatum III and Ronald Triplette, who all were unveiled in December, as well as Brandon Brown, who was announced in January.
 
The class now includes 13 high school players, five who are coming from the junior college ranks and a trio of transfers.
 
A total of 16 of the new Roadrunners are from the state of Texas, including eight from the San Antonio area, three from the Greater Houston Area, two apiece from East Texas and the Rio Grande Valley, and one from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Two players hail from Mississippi, while UTSA added one each from Louisiana, Massachusetts and Oklahoma.
 
Of the 21-member class, 19 are rated as 3-star prospects by at least one of the major recruiting services, while Ron Tatum III was a 4-star prospect.
