UTSA places 14 on Phil Steele Preseason All-Conference USA Teams

CLEVELAND — UTSA has placed 14 student-athletes on Phil Steele's Preseason All-Conference USA Teams as the publication has unveiled its preseason honorees this week.

A total of eight Roadrunners landed on the first team, two more than UAB, which is listed with six first-team honorees. UTSA's 14 overall selections matches the Blazers, the defending C-USA champions, for the most in the league.

Of UTSA's eight first-team picks, four are on the offense. Spencer Burford and Ahofitu Maka are two of five first-team offensive linemen selected, while Zakhari Franklin and Sincere McCormick appear at wide receiver and running back, respectively.

Trevor Harmanson is a first-team pick at linebacker and Rashad Wisdom is in the first-team secondary to lead the defensive selections, while punter Lucas Dean and kicker Hunter Duplessis have been chosen as first-team specialists.

Frank Harris is the second-team quarterback, while Charles Wiley is a third-team pick at linebacker.

UTSA has four fourth-team honorees in wide receiver Joshua Cephus, offensive lineman Makai Hart, defensive lineman Jaylon Haynes and linebacker Jamal Ligon.
