UTSA announces fall schedule

SAN ANTONIO -- The UTSA men's tennis team will play a total of six fall tournaments in the 2021 season, it was announced on Monday by head coach Sergey Avdeyev
 
UTSA will play in six events during the fall as a tune-up for the 2022 dual-meet schedule. UTSA will open its fall at the Corpus Christi Invitational on Sept. 10-12, while also splitting the team between the Midland Invitational in Midland, Texas, the same weekend. 
 
UTSA will then host the UTSA Roadrunner Invitational on Sept. 24-26 at the UTSA Tennis Center. 
 
The Roadrunners will also compete in the ITA All-American Oct. 2-10 in Tulsa, Okla., and the ITA Regionals in College Station, Texas on Oct. 13-17. 
 
UTSA will wrap up its 2021 fall schedule with the Rice Hidden Dual in Houston on Oct. 29-31.
 
The Roadrunners welcome three new student-athletes into the fold in 2021-22, including Miguel Alonso (Veracurz, Mexico), Maxime Groysman (Bellevue, Wash.) and Tomás Pinho (Portugal). UTSA returns several key contributors from a strong 2021 spring season, including Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil), Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile), Slava Gulin (Moscow, Russia), Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) and Garrett Skelly (The Woodlands, Texas).
 
UTSA went 13-8 last year and earned a No. 4 seed in the 2020-21 C-USA Championships. A total of four Roadrunners earned All-Conference USA honors, including Ceolin, Gonzalez and Skelly.
