Roadrunners add Deborah Nwakamma to 21-22 roster

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA women's basketball adds transfer guard Deborah Nwakamma to the 2021-22 roster, head coach Karen Aston announced on Wednesday.

The Legoa, Nigeria, native comes to the Alamo City after spending the last two seasons at Grayson College.

"Deborah is a great shooter and has a high basketball IQ, but is an even better person," Grayson College head coach Bill Damuth said. "She will have great success!"

During the 2019-20 campaign, Nwakamma recorded 3.0 points per game and 1.6 rebounds per game. She also had 33 assists and 26 steals in six games.

Even though Nwakamma missed the 2020-21 season due to injury, she was earned a spot on the NJCAA Third Team All-Academic team.

The Roadrunners open the 2021-22 season Nov. 9 when they host Stephen F. Austin.
