UTSA set for Texas A&M Invitational

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA cross country teams will return to action this Saturday, Sept. 25, when they race in the Texas A&M Invitational at Dale Watts Cross Country Course in College Station.
 
The Roadrunners will compete against Baylor, Little Rock, North Texas, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Tarleton State, Texas A&M, Texas A&M International, Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas Southern (men only).
 
The UTSA men will compete in the 8k race scheduled for 8 a.m. followed by the women's 5k race at 8:45 a.m. 
 
At the UIW Twilight Invitational three weeks ago, the men's team placed sixth in the 8k race with four Roadrunners earning top-35 finishes. Jake Smith finished 19th with a time of 19:32.2, followed with Harrison Wade placing 23rd (19:47.0), Michael Paredes in 31st (20:12.3) and Luke Lawhorn in 34th (20:13.9). 
 
The women's team also finished sixth in the 4k. Lily Morrill led the way by placing 28th with a time of 16:01.1, followed by Chante Dixon in 31st (16:14.2), Savana Alt in 33rd (16:16.8) and Carolina Ortiz in 34th (16:18.4).
