SAN ANTONIO – UTSA soccer (7-4-1, 2-2-0 C-USA) will look to extend its winning streak to three in a row, as they host Louisiana Tech (5-7-2, 1-3-1 C-USA) this Thursday at 7 p.m. The match will be played at Park West Athletics Complex and will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
In their last outing, the Roadrunners defeated Marshall on the road, 3-0. Freshman forward Anna Sutter scored two goals in the match to pace the UTSA offense. It was Sutter's second two-goal game of the season and she leads the team with four goals (on eight shots). The Roadrunners also received a goal from Deja Sandoval in the contest, her first of the season.
It marked UTSA's second straight conference win, and first road conference game won since 2019. The win snapped a five-match losing streak on the road in conference play. The win also continued UTSA's best start in program history, as 7-4-1 is the best winning percentage through 12 games in any UTSA season.
The Roadrunners now hold a goal differential of 16-11 on the season. UTSA is averaging 1.33 goals per game and is shooting 40% of their total shots on net. This matchup will mark the ninth meeting between UTSA and Louisiana Tech. Louisiana Tech enters the match holding a 2-6 advantage in the series. The most recent meeting between the teams was in March earlier this year, when UTSA traveled to Ruston and fell 1-0 in double overtime.
