Roadrunners announce 2022 schedule

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA baseball will host 27 games at Roadrunner Field as part of its 54-game 2022 schedule, it was announced on Friday by head coach Pat Hallmark.

"We are excited with our 2022 schedule," Hallmark said. "It will be challenging but that's exactly what we want, as our schedule includes 11 games against teams that finished last season in the top 25. Facing Stanford at home should be exciting as they were in the College World Series last June. Oklahoma and Baylor will be great matchups too."

UTSA will play four non-conference weekends as part of its 13-week regular season schedule, will play a total of 12 midweek games, and will host 27 total games at Roadrunner Field. The Roadrunners will play 10 Conference USA three-game weekends, all falling on Friday-Sunday except for the final conference opponent UAB, who will play Thursday-Saturday.

UTSA will travel to Stephenville, Texas to face Tarleton State to open the season in a three-game series at the Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex, starting at 4 p.m. on Feb. 18. UTSA will then travel to face Big 12 powerhouse TCU in Fort Wurth, Texas on Feb. 23.

The Roadrunners welcome Seattle to San Antonio for the home opening series from Feb. 25-27 at Roadrunner Field, before hosting traditional power Stanford on Feb. 28. UTSA will close the homestand by hosting the SWAC's Southern Jaguars from March 4-6 and then hosting a midweek game against UIW on March 8.

UTSA will then hit the road for a quick four-game road swing, beginning with traveling to play three in Norman, Okla., at L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Park, facing Oklahoma on March 11, 12 and 13. UTSA will then venture to face Houston Baptist on March 15 in Houston, Texas.

The Roadrunners return home from their four-game road trip to open conference play by hosting Louisiana Tech March 18-20 before heading back on the road.

UTSA's first stop on the road will be Waco, Texas, where they will take on the Big 12's Baylor Bears on March 22. The Roadrunners will then swing east to visit the Florida Atlantic Owls in Boca Raton, Fla. from March 25-27. The road trip will conclude with the Roadrunners returning to San Antonio to face UIW on the Cardinal's campus.

The Roadrunners then return to Roadrunner Field to play host to Conference USA foe Charlotte on April 1-3. Then, midweek, Stephen F. Austin comes to town on April 6.

UTSA then ventures on its longest road trip of the year, as they begin a span of eight straight games on the road. They begin by traveling to Norfolk, Va. to face Old Dominion April 8-10. The team will then play in Huntsville, Texas against Sam Houston State on April 13 before heading to Houston where they will face Rice on Easter weekend, April 15-17. The road trip concludes with the Roadrunners visiting San Marcos, Texas where a game with Texas State awaits.

Following the eight-game road trip, UTSA returns home to host conference foe Florida International April 22-24. Later in the week, UTSA will face Texas State again, hosting this time, on April 26.

The Roadrunners conclude the month of April by hitting the road, traveling to Murfreesboro, Tenn. to face MTSU April 29-May 1.

The Roadrunners will return home to face UTRGV on May 3, host Marshall on May 6-8, and then will travel to Hattiesburg to face Southern Miss May 13-15.

UTSA will wrap up its regular season schedule at home against conference opponent UAB on May 19-21.

The league tournament is slated to take place in Hattiesburg on May 25-29.
