SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA softball team takes on LA Tech this weekend in a three game series in Ruston, La.
Friday's first pitch is set for 6 p.m. Saturday will start at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. to wrap up the series.
Scouting UTSA
UTSA enters the series 9-18 overall and 3-3 in conference action after a 5-3 loss to Texas State Wednesday evening.
Kat Ibarra continues to lead the team with a .346 batting average from 22 runs, 28 hits, three doubles, three triples and four home runs. Marena Estell, Riley Grunberg and Camryn Robillard are all tied for the lead with five homers each. In the circle, Estell leads with a 3.82 EA, pitching 47.2 innings and 25 strikeouts.
Scouting LA Tech
The Lady Techsters come into the weekend 20-14 overall and 5-4 in C-USA play. LA Tech just lost to Northwestern State 6-2 on Tuesday.
Sierra Sacco leads the team with a .384 batting average. She has 27 runs, 43 hits, four doubles and a triple so far this season. Madie Green leads the Lady Techsters with seven home runs. Audrey Pickett has a 1.48 ERA, pitching 118.1 innings and 75 strikeouts.
