UTSA heads north to face Big 12’s TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas – The UTSA women's basketball team hits the road to face the TCU Horned Frogs in Fort Worth, Texas, on Wednesday night. The game is set to tip-off at 6:30 p.m. (CT) on ESPN+. 
 
LEADING THE ROADRUNNERS
Through the first game, newcomer from USC Jordyn Jenkins leads the team in scoring with 17 points. Fellow USC transfer and San Antonio native Kyra White helped out her teammates with seven dimes, also putting up a team-high two three-pointers and three steals. Elyssa Coleman had a perfect day at the line, going 4-for-4 on her free-throw attempts.
 
Deborah Nwakamma led the team with six rebounds, including five of those on defense. Sidney Love made her collegiate debut, earning the starting point guard spot and leading the team with three steals.
 
ROADRUNNER DEBUTS
Five Roadrunners (two transfers and three freshmen) made their debut in the season opener at SFA on Nov. 7, 2022 - Jordyn Jenkins, Kyra White, Sidney Love, Maya Linton and Siena Guttadauro.
 
SCOUTING THE HORNED FROGS
The Horned Frogs own  a 1-1 record after a 75-48 loss to No. 12 North Carolina on Saturday. TCU was picked last (10th) in the preseason Big 12 Coaches' Poll. The Horned Frogs concluded their 2021-22 season in the first round of the Big 12 Championship, falling to West Virginia, 68-48. 
 
Sophomore Knisha Godfrey leads the Horned Frogs with 30 points and 11 rebounds, also recording an assist and two steals in the first two games. Emily Fisher has notched 10 rebounds, while Tomi Taiwo has recorded 20 points for TCU. 
 
SERIES HISTORY
TCU leads the all-time series, 5-0. The Roadrunners and Horned Frogs last played on Dec. 5, 2012, when TCU took a 73-64 win over UTSA.
