Jenkins named C-USA Player of the Week for second consecutive week

DALLAS – For the second consecutive week and third time this season, junior Jordyn Jenkins has been named the Conference USA Player of the Week, announced the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Jenkins is the first Roadrunner to earn C-USA Player of the Week three times in a single season since UTSA joined the conference in 2013. Mikayla Woods earned Freshman of the Week three times in the 2019-20 season, but no Roadrunner has earned Player of the Week three times in the C-USA.

The Kent, Wash., native had a career-high 35 points in UTSA's highest scoring game this season last week against Houston. This career best beat her previous high of 29 points, which she recorded at USC last season. Jenkins led the Roadrunners in a highly competitive matchup with Houston, leading them to their first overtime game of the season. Also notching 10 rebounds in the game, she recorded her second consecutive double-double (seventh of her career).

The Roadrunners are set to return to action after the holiday break, opening up conference play at home against Louisiana Tech on Dec. 29. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. (CT) at the Convocation Center.
