SAN ANTONIO – UTSA will.be making its second-consecutive appearance in the H-E-B Tournament of Champions this weekend as it travels down to Corpus Christi to participate in the event's 59th edition.
The Roadrunners (2-4) will open tournament action against Oral Roberts on Thursday at noon with its Thursday night to be determined depending on the results of the opening round. The H-E-B Tournament of Champions will be played at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center which features 12 courts as eight teams will compete for the tournament crown.
UTSA enters this weekend's competition coming off of a weekend where it split a pair of duals in the Dallas area. The Roadrunners defeated UT Arlington, 4-3, on Saturday, Feb. 11 and fell to SMU, 1-4, on Sunday, Fe. 12.
Senior Sebastian Rodriguez owns the best singles record through six duals, as he's 3-3. The duo pair of Garrett Skelly and Jackson Ross is 2-1 to lead the doubles groups.
UTSA's doubles pair of Rodriguez and Alan Magadan remain in the top ten of the ITA national rankings as the duo was recently announced as the eighth-best tandem in the country following the Feb. 8 update.
Series History
Oral Roberts – This will be the first-ever meeting between UTSA and Oral Roberts.
Abilene Christian – If the Roadrunners face off with Abilene Christian, it will be the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools. The two teams are currently split down the middle with three wins apiece with the last matchup coming last March when UTSA downed the Wildcats, 4-3.
Radford – This would be the first-ever meeting between UTSA and Radford.
Louisiana Lafayette – If the Roadrunners face off with ULL, it would be the 16th all-time meeting between the two programs. The Ragin' Cajuns hold the advantage over UTSA, having won nine of the previous matchups (to UTSA's six). The two teams last met in 2022 when ULL downed UTSA 4-3.
New Mexico State – If UTSA meets up with New Mexico State, it will be the tenth all-time meeting between the two programs. UTSA holds a 6-3 record over the Aggies and has won the last six meetings between the two schools.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi – If UTSA and the host institution TAMU-CC end up facing off, it will be the 23rd all-time meeting between the two schools. The Islanders currently hold a 14-8 advantage over the Roadrunners and at one point held an eight-match winning streak over UTSA. As of late though it's been all Roadrunners as they've won the previous six matchups.
DePaul – If the Roadrunners meet up with the Blue Demons of DePaul, it would be the sixth all-time meeting between the two programs. UTSA holds the advantage over DePaul, 4-1, and has won four straight matchups. The two teams last met in March of 2016.

UTSA will be back in action next weekend when it returns to the UTSA Tennis Center for a pair of weekend matches. The Roadrunners will first face off with their first C-USA opponent of the season, FAU, on Friday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. before welcoming Wichita State for a Sunday, Feb. 26, morning match at 11 a.m.
