Muminovic named to C-USA All-Academic Team

DALLAS – UTSA sophomore men's tennis player Danijal Muminovic has been selected to the six-man Conference USA All-Academic Team in a vote by the league's academic advisors, officials from the conference office announced Friday. A first-time honoree, Muminovic becomes only the third Roadrunner to receive the honor, following Javier Gonzalez (2022) and Joel Rubio (2015).

Muminovic, a Tuzla, Bosnia native hailing from Medicinska Škola Tuzla (Tuzla Medical High School), boasts a 3.90 cumulative grade point average as an Honors College double major in Economics and Marketing. Although this is his first All-Academic Team honor, Muminovic was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete in 2022. Additionally, he earned a spot on the C-USA Honor Roll and garnered the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal in his first year at UTSA.

A member of the UTSA President's List and Dean's List throughout his time with the Roadrunners, Muminovic has helped UTSA to eight consecutive weeks in the top 50 rankings as a constant weapon in the singles lineup, earning an 11-6 record on the fourth, fifth and sixth courts – paced by a 7-2 mark on five. Aiding UTSA toward a program-record 14 consecutive team victories and a season-high No. 34 ranking, Muminovic set the Roadrunners on the right course by garnering the first singles point in four matches, while clinching the match point in another. A second-year player for the Roadrunners, Muminovic has made 44 singles appearances while garnering a 22-15 record so far.
