UTSA adds Kai Bailey to 2023 signing class

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head volleyball coach Carol Price-Torok announced Wednesday that the program has added Kai Bailey to the 2023 signing class.

Bailey is a 6-2 middle blocker from Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia. She was a two-time all-region and two-time all-county performer for the Eagles under head coach Kimberlee Church.

"Kai is going to bring a level of physicality to our gym that will provide another offensive and defensive presence as we transition into the American Conference," said Price-Torok. "Her energy and work ethic stood out to us during the recruiting process and we're excited to add it to the foundation built from our current team."

Bailey posted 221 kills, a.402 hitting percentage, 34 blocks, 78 digs and 13 service aces as a senior en route to first-team all-region and second-team all-county accolades. She also has been a standout for the A5 Gwinnett club team for the past several years, helping that squad advance to the 2023 USA Volleyball Nationals Championships.

Bailey joins Aliah Giroux, a transfer from Southern Miss, and Mia Soerensen, a transfer from Kent State, in the 2023 signing class.
