Roadrunners honored with USTFCCCA Academic Awards

NEW ORLEANS — The UTSA track & field program has been honored with team and individual academic accolades from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA).

Both the men's and women's squads were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams, which requires a cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field of 3.0 or higher. The women posted a 3.36 team GPA and the men boast a 3.28 team GPA.

Additionally, 13 Roadrunners were tabbed USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes, two more than last year.

On the men's side, Bashiru Abdullahi, Michael Campbell, Joel McFarlane, Jemuel Miller, Dennis Phillips, Mike Roth and Jack Turner were honored. Abdullahi, McFarlane, Miller and Phillips are repeat honorees.

For the women, Oreoluwa Adamson and Ingeborg Gruenwald repeated as recipients and were joined by Acacia Astwood, Sigrid Kleive, Marilis Remmel and Alanah Yukich on the list.
