UTSA announces 2023-24 schedule

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf team has released its 2023-24 schedule featuring a home tournament at TPC San Antonio and regular-season trips to four other states in addition to Puerto Rico.

The Roadrunners will tee off their second season under head coach Matt Wernecke on Sept. 9-11 when they serve as the host school, in conjunction with Valero Energy Corporation and Valero Texas Open, for the Valero Texas Collegiate at their home venue, TPC San Antonio. The tournament will feature a dozen of the top collegiate teams from across the country converging on the Oaks Course with the individual winner earning an exemption to play in the 2024 Valero Texas Open, the PGA TOUR's annual stop on the same course.

UTSA then will travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the second of four fall events, the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate on Sept. 25-26 at UNM Championship Course.

The month of October will see the Roadrunners fly to Spartanburg, South Carolina, for The Carolina Cup on Oct. 8-10 at The Carolina Country Club, as well to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to play in The Clerico on Oct. 23-24 at Cedar Ridge Country Club.

UTSA will open the spring slate on Jan. 29-30 with its second straight appearance in the Sea Best Invitational at TPC Sawgrass Dye's Valley in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

The Roadrunners will stay in the Lone Star State for the Bentwater Invitational on Feb. 12-13 in Montgomery before heading to Puerto Rico to play in the Dorado Beach Collegiate on Feb. 25-27 at TPC Dorado Beach.

The month of March will feature a pair of competitions for UTSA, which will head back to the Sunshine State for The Hayt on March 9-11 at Sawgrass Country Club and to the Golf Club of Houston for the All-American Intercollegiate on March 18-19.

UTSA will make the short drive to Bryan for The Aggie Invitational on April 6-7 at Traditions Club in what will be the final tune-up for the American Athletic Conference Championship, which is set for April 19-21 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.

NCAA Regional play is scheduled for May 13-15 and the NCAA Championship will be held May 24-29 at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California.
