Roadrunners pick up personal records at NCAA Regionals

Fayetteville, Ark. — The UTSA cross country men’s and women’s teams wrapped up its 2023 seasons at the NCAA South Central Regional in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Friday morning, picking up a few personal records along the way.

For the fifth time this season, freshman Melody Espinoza led the Roadrunners as she placed 64th with a time of 22:15.8. Marissa Espinoza followed shortly after at 80th place with a time of 22:31.5. Brooke Veltman crossed the finish line at 23:08.4 to find 117th place. Jadelyn Malesich finished at 23:28.8 to take 137th place.

Colton Stunkard led the way for the Roadrunners for the fourth meet this season, taking 37th place in the 10k men’s race. The Texas City native beat his previous record by nearly one minute, crossing the finish line at 30:52.9. Caden Cunningham finished the race in 31:32.8 to place 60th. Landon Blankenship also beat his previous record by a minute at 33:09.6 to take 127th. Adrian Orozco rounded out the UTSA runners at 149th place with a time of 33:52.4.
