Proctor picks up second AAC Freshman of the Week accolade

She accomplished the feat after posting 14 points and seven rebounds against UAB

SAN ANTONIO — On Monday, the American Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards, selecting Aysia Proctor as the league's Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.

Proctor was issued the accolade after propelling the Roadrunners to a 76-58 victory over a first-place UAB squad on Sunday. She led the contest with 14 points, going 6-for-9 from the field, including 2-for-4 from beyond the arc, while collecting seven rebounds and two assists.

She last was awarded on Jan. 22, following a week that saw her work 14.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, two blocks, and an assist across contests with South Florida and UAB.

Fellow newcomer Idara Udo was awarded on Dec. 6, 2023, after a 15-point, nine-rebound performance against Seattle U. This marks the first occasion since the 2019-20 campaign in which a UTSA student-athlete claimed multiple iterations of the award, as Mikayla Woods did so three times in Conference-USA.

UTSA will be back in action on Wednesday as they visit Tulsa, Oklahoma, for a 6:30 p.m. showing with the Golden Hurricane inside the Reynolds Center.
