SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's basketball team is set to face Florida Atlantic with a Senior Day Celebration slotted for 1 p.m. on Sunday in the Convocation Center. The 'Runners will honor players Nissa Sam-Grant, Kyleigh McGuire, Hailey Atwood, and Kyra White, along with head student manager Amie Ramirez, student manager Kennedy Harrell, and graduate assistant Angel Almaguer.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, with Karl Schoening providing play-by-play alongside Carlie Heineman. Neal Raphael will deliver the radio call in the greater San Antonio area on The Bull 93.3 FM and worldwide on the iHeartRadio app.
The Roadrunners (13-12, 7-7 The American) will look to bounce back after suffering a 56-48 defeat at the hands of Temple on Thursday. Despite the decision, senior Jordyn Jenkins and redshirt junior Elyssa Coleman each recorded a double-double, marking the first time since 2021 that a UTSA duo accomplished the feat in the same game. Jenkins scored a team-high 15 points with 10 rebounds, while Coleman charted 10 points and collected 11 rebounds, four blocks, and a steal.
UTSA remains inside the top 10 nationally in a trio of rebounding categories, as 45.3 rebounds per game rank sixth, while 16.2 offensive rebounds sit eighth. A plus-9.5 rebound margin is 10th across the NCAA and 29.2 defensive rebounds per game rank 22nd. Additionally, 4.7 blocks per game are 27th, and a 36.4% field goal defense is 21st.
Individually, White posts 4.8 assists per game for the second-most in The American, and a 1.55 assist/turnover ratio ranks fourth. She also plays 34.5 minutes, which sits second. Coleman, meanwhile, also is second, swatting 38 shots on the year, and her team-leading 7.8 rebounds per game are 10th in the league.
The Owls (9-16, 4-10 The American) are coming off a week of rest, last besting South Florida 67-55 on Feb. 17.
UTSA and FAU previously met in Boca Raton, as Coleman recorded a double-double to the tune of 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 73-60 Roadrunner victory. Also performing well, freshman Aysia Proctor scored 17 points, as White charted 12 and sophomore Maya Linton 10.
Mya Perry and Janeta Rozentale have been stellar for the Owls, as Perry sinks 2.6 triples a game while converting shots from beyond the arc at a 40.3% clip. She also leads the Owls with 12.0 ppg, and Jada Moore is not far behind, logging 10.6. Rozentale hauls in 9.1 rebounds per game for the second-most in the AAC.
