GREENWOOD, Ind. — The College Sports Communicators released its 2024 Softball Academic All-District Teams on Tuesday, with junior Sophie Campbell and redshirt sophomore Kylie Forney representing UTSA among the honorees.
Campbell has earned the distinction for the second consecutive season, while Forney is a first-time pick and the fifth Roadrunner to earn the accolades in the program’s history.
The ‘Runners everyday first baseman, Campbell, appeared in 57 games with 55 starts while maintaining a stellar 3.71 GPA. The multidisciplinary studies major worked a .236 AVG on the year, plating 19 runs in the process. Defensively, she led the squad in putouts with 229.
Forney, meanwhile, started 52 games at third base, launching four long balls and recording 14 RBIs. She boasts a 3.58 GPA while studying kinesiology at UTSA.
