CLEVELAND — The preseason honors continue to roll in for UTSA, as eight Roadrunners have been named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-American Athletic Conference Team.
Place-kicker Chase Allen, tight end Oscar Cardenas and defensive lineman Joe Evans all earned a spot on the first team, while defensive lineman Brandon Brown and wide receiver Devin McCuin made the second team.
Safety Ken Robinson was UTSA’s lone third-team selection and linebacker Jamal Ligon and money backer Donyai Taylor both landed on the fourth team.
On Tuesday, Athlon Sports unveiled its preseason all-conference team which included 15 Roadrunners with a league-high seven garnering first-team accolades in Allen, Brown, Cardenas, Evans, Ligon, Taylor and running back Kevorian Barnes. Second-team selections included McCuin, Robinson and offensive lineman Venly Tatafu. Felllow o-lineman Cory Godinet and outside linebacker Jimmori Robinson made the third team, while wide receiver De’Corian Clark, offensive lineman Makai Hart and running back Robert Henry were picked for the fourth team.
On Monday, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football picked Allen, Barnes, Brown, Evans and Tatafu for its Preseason All-Texas College Team.
Earlier this month, Athlon Sports chose Jeff Traylor as its top head coach in The American for the 2024 season.
The Roadrunners will kick off the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31, when they host Kennesaw State at 2:30 p.m. at the Alamodome.
Fans can purchase season tickets online or by calling the UTSA Ticket Office at 210-458-UTSA (8872) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding holidays. Current UTSA football season-ticket holders may renew their tickets by logging into their UTSA Account Manager.
Season tickets start as low as $90 per seat. Payment plans for all season ticket packages are available.
Current UTSA students receive free admission to all home games by downloading tickets via their Account Manager.
