UTSA picked to finish second in American Athletic Conference Preseason Media Poll

ARLINGTON, Texas — UTSA has been picked to finish second in the American Athletic Conference Preseason Media Poll, announced by the league office on Tuesday as part of The American Football Kickoff at Loews Arlington.

The Roadrunners received 368 points and four first-place votes to check in at second behind Memphis, which had 409 points and 23 first-place votes.

Tulane was projected to finish third after collecting 362 points and a pair of first-place votes, while South Florida and Army, which had one first-place vote) round out the top five.

Florida Atlantic was picked sixth ahead of a tie for seventh between East Carolina and Rice. North Texas was ninth, followed by UAB, Navy, Tulsa, Charlotte and Temple in the 14-team league.

Head coach Jeff Traylor and senior student-athletes Oscar Cardenas and Jamal Ligon are representing UTSA at the American Kickoff, which will wrap up today at Loews Arlington.

Live coverage of The American Kickoff will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, as Morgan Uber, Rene Ingoglia, Taylor McHargue and Brooke Kirchhofer interview coaches and student-athletes from all 14 teams.

The Roadrunners will kick off the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31, when they host Kennesaw State at 2:30 p.m. at the Alamodome.

Fans can purchase tickets online or by calling the UTSA Ticket Office at 210-458-UTSA (8872) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding holidays. Current UTSA football season-ticket holders may renew their tickets by logging into their UTSA Account Manager.

Season tickets start as low as $90 per seat. Payment plans for all season ticket packages are available. 

Current UTSA students receive free admission to all home games by downloading tickets via their Account Manager.
