UTSA unveils 2024-25 schedule

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men’s golf team has unveiled its 2024-25 schedule, which features a home tournament at TPC San Antonio, regular-season trips to four other states and a spring season opener in Mexico.

The Roadrunners will tee off their third season under head coach Matt Wernecke on Sept. 21-23 when they serve as the host school, in conjunction with Valero Energy Corporation and Valero Texas Open, for the Valero Texas Collegiate at their home venue, TPC San Antonio. The tournament will feature some of the top collegiate teams from across the country converging on the Oaks Course with the individual winner earning an exemption to play in the 2024 Valero Texas Open, the PGA TOUR’s annual stop on the same course. UTSA will line up against Auburn, Clemson, East Tennessee State, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, North Florida, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Virginia.

UTSA will embark on its first road trip of the season on Oct. 6-8, playing in the Trinity Forest Invitational at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas.

The Roadrunners will close out the fall slate with visits to Biloxi, Mississippi, for the Fallen Oak Invitational hosted by Ole Miss on Oct. 19-21 at Fallen Oak Golf Club followed by The Clerico, which will be hosted by Oral Roberts on Oct. 28-29 at Oaks Country Club in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

UTSA will travel internationally to start the spring season, flying to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for the Vaqueros Intercollegiate hosted by UTRGV on Feb. 2-4 at Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club.

The Roadrunners are then set to visit both coasts for their next two tournaments. UTSA will head to Palm Desert, California, to compete in the Desert Intercollegiate, which will be hosted by Wyoming on Feb. 24-26 at Classic Club. The Roadrunners then fly east to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, for The Hayt on March 8-10 at Sawgrass Country Club.

UTSA will make the short drive to Humble, Texas, for the All-American Intercollegiate on March 17-18 at the Golf Club of Houston before the final conference tune-up on April 12-13 at The Aggie Invitational at Traditions Club in Bryan.

The American Athletic Conference Championship is set for April 18-20 at Ritz-Carlton Members Club in Sarasota, Florida.

NCAA Regional play is scheduled for May 12-14 and the NCAA Championship will be held May 23-28 at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California.
