'Runners to visit Mean Green on Sunday

The event will begin at 1 p.m. in the North Texas Volleyball Center

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA volleyball team will head to Denton, Texas on Sunday, with a 1 p.m. American Athletic Conference contest on the docket against North Texas in the UNT Volleyball Center.

The Roadrunners (6-12, 0-5 The American) will look to bounce back after a 25-18, 25-23, 25-22 loss at the hands of Tulane last time out.

Sophomore Kai Bailey delivered a standout performance, recording 11 kills at a .667 clip. Junior Mia Soerensen logged nine terminations of her own, while fellow junior Caroline Krueger managed eight. Sophomore Annika Sokol delivered a double-double to the tune of 17 assists and 11 digs, and classmate Peyton Turner scooped 15 of the opposition's attacks. Rounding things out, freshman Morgen Durgens recorded 15 assists.

The Mean Green (6-10, 3-2 The American) will enter the contest after falling to Rice (25-19, 25-16, 25-19) on Friday.

Aryn Johnson has powered the UNT offensive, working 168 kills, as Coco Gillett and Payton Van Veen are not far behind with 142 apiece. Johnson's 124 digs are tied with Kamryn Scroggins for the squad high, and Gillet has launched 16 service aces to lead the team. Additionally, Priscilla Jones boasts 41.0 blocks and Scroggins 296 assists.
