SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head women’s golf coach Summer Batiste announced that the program has signed Kayla Black (Mississauga, Ontario) and Victoria Schuldt (Hamburg, Germany). The pair will join the Roadrunners beginning with the 2025-26 season.
“We are very excited to sign Victoria and Kayla to our program for the 2025 class,” Batiste said. “They are both great human beings who fit into our culture very well and will bring the high character values we prioritize at UTSA. On the golf course, they’re fierce competitors with a deep passion for developing their games. They will add significant value to our program as we continue our pursuit to compete for American Athletic Conference Championships.”

Standout golfer on the junior circuit in both her native Canada and the United States … runner-up after carding a 72-75—147 at the 2024 HJGT’s Winter Garden Spring Championship … finished third after firing rounds of 74, 73 and 76 in Golf Ontario’s Tour Championship … tied for fifth at the AJGA Tennessee Preview in Sevierville … posted a pair of 74s to earn a share of 10th at Golf Ontario’s Spring Classic … was seventh with a 70-74-74—218 at Golf Canada’s NextGen Ontario … placed 24th in Golf Ontario’s Junior Girls Championship … tied for 10th on the strength of a final-round 68 at AJGA’s Wichita Junior Championship … invited to join Team Ontario for 2025 … also played Tier 1 hockey for four years prior to switching to golf … was selected to represent Ontario and Canada at national and international tournaments … also strong academically … awarded the principal’s Outstanding Achievement Award in 8th Grade … received the Teacher’s Trustworthiness Award the following year … member of the Honour Roll … recipient of Blyth Academy’s Athletic Integrity Scholarship in 2024 … mother played tennis at Nebraska.
Victoria Schuldt (Hamburg, Germany/Gymnasium Hochrad)
Accomplished golfer who hails from Germany … has won numerous tournaments … captured individual medalist honors at the 2023 Hanseatic International Youth Open … finished fifth at the Möbel Hesse Junior International after firing a 3-under 68 in the third round … won the first of two U18 Girls State Championships in 2023 with a 3-under par total … claimed the 2023 Junior Club Championship on the strength of a 1-under 70 in the second round … won the 2023 Women’s Club Championship … tied for first at the Hanseatic International Youth Open in 2024 with a 2-under par scorecard … tied for 14th at the 2022 German National Girls Championship … grabbed a share of 13th at the 2024 German National Girls Championship … placed 16th at the 2024 German National Amateur … fired a 4-under 68 in the qualifier for the German Team Championship … played for Hamburg in the first German league … selected to the German National Development Team in 2023 … helped Hamburg Falkenstein win the 2024 German Team Championship … also played tennis as well as competitive field hockey until the age of 14.
