Get to know UTSA Softball player Camryn Robillard in this Q&A.

Q: Why did you choose UTSA?

Camryn Robillard: "I chose UTSA because of the location. I'm from Austin so I love a big city and it's the perfect distance from home."

Q: What do you like most about being a student-athlete at UTSA?

Camryn Robillard: "Being a student-athlete at UTSA has been so rewarding and has brought many opportunities. I've met some awesome people who I will have lifelong connections with. I have incredible teammates and an incredible coaching staff and I am truly grateful for everyone who supports UTSA Athletics. It's such an amazing place to be."

Q: How did you first get involved playing softball?

Camryn Robillard: "I first got involved with playing softball when I was younger and I basically copied everything that my sister did. Eventually she outgrew it, but I have always had a passion for the sport."

Q: What are you majoring in and what do you hope to do career wise?

Camryn Robillard: "I am a business marketing major. I love all the opportunities there are for marketing, but I have always wanted to do real estate, so I will probably dabble in both."

Q: Who have been the most influential people in your life?

Camryn Robillard: "Both my parents have been the most influential in their own unique ways. My dad is extremely smart and hard-working, and has shown me the value of commitment and discipline. My mom has been my biggest supporter helping me through all my ups and downs."

Q: Who is your sports role model?

Camryn Robillard: "I have always seen Derek Jeter as my sports hero because of his consistency in high-pressure moments as well as his respect for the game. It has always inspired me to strive for excellence and lead with character in my own athletic journey."
