Schultz signs professional contract

The former Roadrunner is now a Ratingen Goose-Neck

SAN ANTONIO – Former UTSA softball pitcher Kenzi Schultz has officially entered the professional ranks after recently signing with the Ratingen Goose-Necks of the German Bundesliga Nord.

“Signing a professional contract is a dream come true, said Schultz. “It is the culmination of years of hard work, sacrifice, and commitment. My time at UTSA prepared me for this moment by pushing my development both as an athlete and an individual. The coaches, my teammates, and the competitive environment played a key role in shaping who I am today … I am excited to take on this next chapter!”.

The Goose-Necks compete in the highest competitive level of German softball, and Shultz will make the trip to Ratingen after spending the past two seasons at UTSA.

A fan favorite, Schultz competed for two seasons at Utah Valley before heading to San Antonio, where her energy and enthusiasm were infectious for the squad. Boasting one of the top changeups in the league, Schultz appeared in 42 games for the club, tossing 85 innings in the circle.

“We’re thrilled that Kenzi has the opportunity to continue playing in Germany, said head UTSA softball coach Vann Stuedeman upon hearing the news. “She will thrive in that league as she’s a fierce competitor. We wish her all the best!”.
