SAN ANTONIO — UTSA defeats Florida Atlantic 7-6 in walk-off fashion, thanks to James Taussig who hit an RBI single to lead UTSA to victory on Sunday, Mar. 30 at Roadrunner Field in San Antonio, Texas.

Florida Atlantic took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a solo home run. UTSA tied the game in the third inning as Mason Lytle hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Jordan Ballin, who reached on an error. FAU regained the lead in the fourth on a single through the left side to go up 2-1.
In the bottom of the fourth, Drew Detlefsen singled to center field. Andrew Stucky followed the single with a walk. Catcher Lorenzo Morresi was able to tie the game at 2-2 as he hit a double to left center, scoring Detlefsen. With runners on second and third, Jordan Ballin singled through the left side to score both runs and give UTSA a 4-2 lead.
FAU took back the lead in the fifth inning on an RBI single and a three-run home run to go up 6-4.
In the seventh inning, UTSA got two aboard on back-to-back hit-by pitches. Taussig scored both runs as he hit a double to right center tying the game up at 6-6.
The UTSA bullpen held strong as Kendall Dove threw 3.1 innings, giving up two runs on five hits with two strikeouts. Gunnar Brown tossed the final four outs as he came into the game in the top of the eighth inning with two outs. Brown did not allow a single hit in his outing, retiring all four batters he faced en route to the win.
In the bottom of the ninth, Ballin led the inning off with a double. FAU then intentionally walked the next two batters in hopes of a double play. Taussig had other plans as he hit a single to right field, scoring Ballin and leading UTSA to the 7-6 victory
