SAN ANTONIO — Fresh off its second straight top-five finish, UTSA will travel to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, to compete in The Hayt, which will be hosted by North Florida on Saturday-Monday, March 8-10, at Sawgrass Country Club.
The Roadrunners will travel a lineup consisting of Kaelen Dulany, Logan Zurn, Jack Wehman, Logan Vargas and Walker Franklin for the three-day, 54-hole event.
UTSA will compete in a field that includes 10 nationally ranked teams, lining up against No. 18 Alabama, No. 37 Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, No. 28 Duke, Liberty, No. 42 Louisville, Navy, No. 8 North Carolina, No. 26 Northwestern, No. 14 South Carolina, No. 34 South Florida, No. 4 Texas, No. 9 Virginia and the host Ospreys.

In their last outing, the Roadrunners finished fifth at the Desert Intercollegiate on Feb. 24-26 in Palm Desert, California. Dulany finished in a tie for 11th place at 7-under-par 209 after opening the tournament with a 7-under-par 65 — tied for the second-best score in UTSA history — before back-to-back even-par scorecards, while Zurn grabbed a share of 16th at 4-under 212 (72-71-69).
UTSA also placed fifth at the Vaqueros Intercollegiate on Feb. 4-6 in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, as David Martinez tied for 10th with a 2-over 218 (73-73-72).
Dulany leads the Roadrunners with a 73.06 stroke average in 18 rounds this season. The sophomore from Keller, Texas, has logged three top-25 finishes, including his tie for 11th at the Desert Intercollegiate.
Zurn stands second on the squad with a 74.06 scoring mark and the junior out of Grapevine, Texas, has posted six par-or-better scorecards during his debut campaign, including in four of his last five rounds.
Wehman owns a 74.11 average in nine rounds this season with his top finish of 32nd coming after turning in a 1-under 215 (70-73-72) while playing outside the lineup at the Desert Intercollegiate.
Vargas has tallied a 74.8 stroke average, while Franklin totes a 75.22 mark.
UTSA played in The Hayt for the first time in program history a year ago, with Hunter Bott’s 18th-place performance guiding the Roadrunners to 14th.
