SAN ANTONIO — UTSA falls to American Athletic Conference opponent Rice 4-2 on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the UTSA Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas.
UTSA is 14-2 with their two losses coming against AAC opponents. UTSA is now 6-1 at home and still perfect on the Road.
In singles, UTSA is now 57-17 with Arina Babenko leading the team with 13 wins and no losses on the season. In doubles, the Roadrunners are 27-13 on the season, winning two of the three matches played today.
UTSA will take on Denver at 11 a.m. on Mar. 16 at the UTSA Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas.

The Roadrunners were able to open the match winning the doubles point as Natalia Castaneda Guerrero and Aoka Nagasawa took down their opponents 6-4 at No. 3. To secure the doubles point, Babenko and Valeria Sanchez defeated their opponents, who were ranked No. 80 in the country, 6-4 at No. 2.
Rice tied the game by winning on No. 6 in singles. They then took the lead, winning on No. 1, 6-2, 6-3. UTSA got its second point of the match as Babenko won 6-2, 6-1 on No. 4. This was her 13th singles win of the season. Rice managed to win the match as they won on courts five and three.
